I met up with Becky and Kyle a couple weeks ago on the most gorgeous summer evening. This is the story of how these two lovebirds met:
We both attended Elon University from 2004 to 2008. If you know much about Elon, you know it is a small school where most people tend to know each other. For us this was not the case. We can pinpoint countless times in our four years that we were in the same place at the same time and had many mutual friends but never managed to meet in our time at Elon. After graduation Becky moved back to Massachusetts while Kyle stayed at Elon working in the International Programs office.
When homecoming came around in the fall of 2008, Becky headed back to Elon to meet up with friends while Kyle waited in anticipation of seeing friends who had moved away after graduation. Through mutual friends that weekend, we met and albeit after a false start to the night we met, it was evident that we had a connection that we both wanted to explore further.
Becky took the initiative to surprise Kyle back at Elon two weeks later and our relationship grew from there. We worked through the long distance of Boston to Elon and then when Kyle headed off to the University of Kent for Graduate School, Boston to the United Kingdom to where we are today.
